Independence and conflicts policy

Last updated 8 October 2026 · Effective [effective date] · All legal documents

People rely on PeptideProof because its conclusions follow the evidence and nothing else. These are the commitments that protect that, and how they work in practice.

How conclusions are reached

  • AI is used to read documents and to explain results. It cannot set a verification state; a deterministic rules engine does, from the extracted claims and independent evidence.
  • The checks run identically for every document. A paid plan changes limits and how much detail you can see — never what the evidence says.
  • Methodology changes are published on the methodology page.

How we are funded

PeptideProof is funded by subscriptions and credit purchases from the people who use it, [confirm: and nothing else — no vendor sponsorship, advertising, affiliate commission or paid placement; edit if that changes]. Vendors and laboratories may pay for the same plans as anyone else; doing so gives them no influence over any report about them.

Conflicts of interest

  • [confirm: nobody who runs or works on PeptideProof holds a financial interest in, is employed by, or has a commercial relationship with any vendor or laboratory covered by a report — if that is not true, disclose it here]
  • Anyone with such an interest must not review reports or corrections about that entity.
  • We do not accept gifts, free product or payment in connection with a report.
  • We will disclose a conflict on the affected report if one arises.

Vendors and laboratories

Any vendor or laboratory can dispute a report through the Corrections and disputes policy. A laboratory may also offer a verification route; where it does, we link to it and say clearly whether we checked it or you must.
